Loka Chai Maker: An Incredible Way to Make South Indian Chai Without the Mess and Spillage

As a passionate Chai fan and, of course, a South Indian, I’m absolutely thrilled to see this incredible innovation from a team of designers and engineers. The Loka Chai maker looks to be an awesome solution for the trouble of making a good homemade South Indian Chai.

Not only as a Chai lover, but also as a Chai maker, I have long been facing the hassle of spoil-over and the mess it causes on the stove and in the pan. A thorough cleaning is necessary after each Chai-making session.

A perfect tea, as you might know, is the result of the correct balance of milk and tea powder. The only way to achieve this is to give the blend enough time to boil, but once boiled, the milk froth makes it spill over the stove.

Here comes the Loka Chai Maker, which features a patent-pending Chai fountain with an outwardly curved rim to prevent the milk froth from spilling over.

Thanks to the use of non-toxic materials and a non-stick coating, you have nothing to worry regarding the health aspect of the Chai maker. It is also easy to clean as it comes with a built-in strainer, which you can remove after each Chai-making session and clean in the sink in no time.

The built-in, removable strainer is indeed another big attraction of the Chai maker for me. Along with its jar-like design with a strudy handle, it allows you to pour the boiled tea into a cup effortlessly, making the cleaning afterward a breeze.

The Loka Chai Maker is designed to endure, crafted from Grade 304 stainless steel, ensuring it withstands the test of time.

The Loka Chai Maker has been launched on Kickstarter for crowdfunding, where you can pre-order a unit at an early bird price of $89. The team expects to start shipping by December 2024.

Though engineered to perfectly blend Indian tea, the Loka Chai maker is currently not available for purchase in India.

It is undergoing a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, which means it is not a finished product but a prototype only, and the makers only plan to ship it to backers from the United States.

I am not sure whether this product will be available in India anytime soon.

Based on its Kickstarter early price, the chai maker will cost around 7500 INR, excluding shipping and taxes.
